L’ autour feint

goshawk

Leaning carefully forward

            in a sunlit corner

unbinding the frozen dew

            that clings like ivy

dissolving gravity

            slowly ascending

So i learnt to fly

            to watch from above

the old ways

            to learn

the traditions

            i never mastered

The birds have come

            to accept me now

i race them sometimes

            begrudgingly

they share the right

            to hunt small prey
