A New Prologue for Rudeo and Julietta

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Canberra, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where politic blood makes politic hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of the ALP
A pair of back-stabb’d leaders cause the strife,
Who vie in saying, “It wasn’t me”,
Do with their death bury their party’s life.
The fearful revenge of the disrespected,
And the continuance of their factions’ rage,
Thus ending their chance of being elected,
Is now the two weeks’ traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, Tony Abbott shall strive to mend.
